Below we’ll do an in-depth review of the Stamina ATS and look at all of its pros and cons.
From a quick synopsis viewpoint, the ATS is a fantastic budget rower.
Table of Contents
OVERVIEW:
The Stamina ATS is a great entry-level rower. For those looking in the sub-$500 category of rowers, it’s one of the best options available.
It offers air resistance, which is a good build type.
FEATURES:
There are a few main features that really helps the ATS to stand out from its competition.
•Multi-Function Monitor
The first is that this rower has a multi-function monitor. This allows you to track speed, distance, time and calories burned when rowing. This is a nice feature, especially at this price point.
•Foldable Design
The ATS is easy to fold-up and put away. This is a great space saving design, if you only have a small amount of space that you can dedicate to your homegym, you’ll need something that’s space efficient. The ATS has that in spades.
You can easily fold up the ATS and roll it wherever you like, it’ll even fit into a closet!
•Padded Seat
This mgiht seem strange as a highlight point, but if you’ve spent any amonut of time on a rower, you know how improtant seat comfort is!
The Stamina ATS comes stock with a padded seat design, this allow you to workout in comfort.
BENEFITS:
The top benefits of the ATS is that you’ll get a wind-resitance rowing machine that will allow you to track your workouts (calories burned, distance, etc…).
The seat is confirmable and the footplates are adjustable so that every bodytype and size will be able to jump on this machine and workout.
The durable design build will allow you to get many years of use out of this machine, so long as you take care of it.
PRO’S (of the ATS rower):
•Price:
The price on this rower makes it one of the best entry level rowers on the market.
For around $300, this machine tics a lot of the right boxes.
Stamina built this machine with a pricepoint in mind, and to me, they really nailed it. It’s not Concept 2 machine, but it is a solid piece of workout equipment.
•Workout Tracking:
The LCD readout screen on this rower is among the best for budget rowers.
The well lit screen allows you to easily track how many calories you’ve burned, how long you’ve been on the rower, etc…
Compared to other rowers in this price range, the data tracking ability on this machine is excellent.
•Comfort:
This rower is one of the more comfortable rowers on the market. Having a comfortable rower means that you’ll use it more. Thus, this rower will get more use, which will lead to better fitness levels for you, the user.
The seat pad and adjustable foot pads are nice touches. These allow you to customize your fit on the rower, which makes for better workouts!
•Compact, Foldable Design:
The ATS 1403 easily folds down. This makes it easy to store and move around. If you’re tight on space, this is a great feature!
CONS (of the ATS rower):
As with everything, there are a few cons to this rower. We’ll go over those below.
•Warranty:
As with most rowers in this price range, the warranty on the ATS is not great. This machine has a 90-day parts warranty. This is a pretty short window, most problems seem to pop up in the 6-month range (as the machine starts to be broken in).
I like to see a 6-month to 1-year warranty on machines. This ensures your satisfaction with your new workout machine.
•Build Quality:
Going hand-in-hand with the warranty, the build quality on this machine isn’t amazing. There are plastic parts, many of which could breakdown.
Keep in mind, the selling point for this machine is it’s price. You get what you pay for.
•No Resistance Setting
This isn’t the biggest problem, but the machine does’nt have a resistance setting. Meanining, you can’t adjust how much resitance there is when you “pull” on the handle.
Higher end machines will allow you to adjust this. The Stamina ATS has a fixed resistance level.
•Fan Noise
As with all air resistance ergs, the fan noise is loud. You essentially have a huge fan that you’re powering with your rowing strokes. The machine will make a big “WHOOOSH” sound with each pull.
This won’t be a major problem for most people, but if you plan on working out early in the morning, you’ll want to be aware that this machine can create a decent amount of noise.
•Not for Larger Individuals
Some customers online have complained that the rower “bottoms out” for taller athletes. If you’re over 6-feet tall, I don’t recommend this rower. This machine also has a weight limit of #250.
For smaller individuals, this is a great machine. If you’re a bigger person, I don’t recommend it.

SUMMARY:
The Stamina ATS 1403 is a solid, entry-level machine. It has some quality control flaws, as well as a limited amount of rowing customizations. I would not reccomend it for a taller, heavier indivdual.
That said, if you have a small frame and you want a comfortable, light-use, air resistance machine for under $500, this is a great option.
